Woodcroft Historical Note:
Woodcroft is located 42 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of the City of Blacktown, and it is a part of the Greater Western Sydney region.
Until the 1980’s Woodcroft was the State Brickyards in Doonside. The land was purchased by estate agents and developers L.J. Hooker in 1989. The area was rezoned and in 1992 construction started on the residential area. In 1996 Woodcraft was formally recognised as a suburb.
There is a small retail shopping centre on Richmond Road; the area includes a service station, fast food outlets, supermarket, and video rental store. The areas public transport system is somewhat limited with bus’s to Quakers Hill, Doonside or Blacktown railway stations.
The area is predominantly residential with the suburb containing low density housing, most homes are free standing though townhouses or semi detached are also popular.
Neighbouring suburbs include Quakers Hill, Doonside, Marayong and Blacktown
