Llandilo Historical Note:
Llandilo is located 54 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of the City of Penrith and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region.
Llandilo is a small semi rural outcrop nestled between two creeks. The area was once home to the Mulgoa people who spoke the Darug language. An outbreak of smallpox decimated the Mulgoa People, making it easier for the Europeans to take over the area
In 1818 the first land grant was made to Terry Brook and by 1860 the area was known as Llandilo after a Welsh town. While the acres of land have reduced, the area is still primarily rural as it has been for the past 200 years or so.
There is one High School in Llandilo – Xavier College a catholic school.
Llandilo’s neighbouring suburbs include Londonderry, Cranebrook, Cambridge Gardens, Berkshire Park, Shanes Park, Ropes Crossing, St Marys, Werrington Downs and Werrington County
