Carlton North is an inner suburb of Melbourne located 4 km north from the central district of the city. The area it’s under the local government of areas of Yarra and Melbourne. According to the 2016 census the suburb had a population of 6,300 inhabitants.

Originally, in 1853, Carlton North was a cemetery. During the same period, a prison was built on Lee Street And became an asylum thereafter. Finally, the municipality decided to build a primary school on this field. The first residential blocks appeared just in 1869 with the construction of brick terrace houses. In 1864 the Princes Park became the home to the Carlton Football Club.
