Sunbury historical note

Sunbury is a town suburb of Melbourne located 39 km north-west from the central district of the city. Also, the area it’s under the local government of the City of Hume. According to the 2016 census the suburb had a population of 36,084 inhabitants.

Archaeologists found many aboriginal sites in the area. Europeans settlers arrived in the lands in 1836 with Georges Evans. Then, the first post office opened in January 1858.
