Glen Waverley is a  suburb of Melbourne located 20 km south-east from the central district of the city. The area it’s under the local government of the City of Monash. According to the 2016 census the suburb had a population of 40,327 inhabitants.

In the beginning the settlers used the lands for orchards and, cattle and farms. The first post office opened in 1885 under the name of “Black Flat”. It was renamed in 1954 in reference to a Sir Walter Scott novel. The residential development boomed between 1950 and 1970 with the construction of lot of houses and residential codes. Fun fact, the first Mc Donald of Victoria state was built here on the corner of Springvale and Highstreet Road. The city demolished it in 2016 in order to build a brand new one.
