Hello lovely people 🙂
Okay, now in our computer repairs blog we will talk about installing live essentials in Windows 7.
Microsoft left out several bundled applications like Messenger, Mail and Photo Gallery when it released Windows 7. All these apps have been bundled together now and branded as their *Live Essentials* suite; they are available to be downloaded separately. This is to allow Microsoft the ability to improve on these features without disturbing the core operating system.
To get back those Microsoft applications we know and love go to Start Getting Started Get Windows Live Essentials
You will be taken to the Windows Live page where you can select your language and download the Windows Live Setup executable.
Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker and more are all available to download. So just chose from the list the applications you wish to install.
The amount of time it takes to install will vary depending on which and how many programmes you have chosen. A progress screen will be displaying during the installation process.
Once the programmes have been installed you’ll see them in your Start menu under *Windows Live*
Windows Live Applications
Outlook Express and Windows Mail that was included with Vista have been replaced by Windows Live Mail. This is a great email application, fully featured with RSS Feeds, Calendar and the ability to check multiple web accounts. So, if you are not looking forward to paying out for Outlook, this is an excellent way to handle your email needs.
You can organise, share and store all your digital photos in for free in Windows Live Photo Gallery. You can also share your photos on the web, edit photos and create slideshow presentations.
Naturally you already know about Windows Live Messenger for instant messaging and being able to play games and swap photos with other MSN users.
Movie Maker Beta replaces the Window Movie Maker that had been included with XP it allows you to import video clips, music and photos into your own personal video.
Microsoft will now be able to improve and update these popular and commonly used applications on a far more regular basis without making the user go through patches and updates. It also makes for a more simple installation process giving you more control over what you do and don’t want to install.
I hope that this computer repair blog has helped you out.
Over and out
