Hello lovely people 🙂
The topic of todays computer repairs blog is accessing regional themes. When you first start using Windows 7 it offers you location specific Aero themes which are based on the location and language you choose during the installation process. Today we are going to have a look at being able to access other hidden themes from different countries.
When you start using Windows 7 one of the first things you need to do to set it up is choose a language and time and currency format. It is here that Windows 7 determines the default themes you will be presented with.
Being from Australia we are presented with location specific themes from Australia with desktop backgrounds and scenery
If you’d like to access other International themes – such as the above US ones – copy and paste the following path into the search box and click enter
C:WindowsGlobalizationMCT
In the MCT folder you will find additional themes for Canada, America, South Africa, and Great Britain.
Now you will be able to go in and access the Wallpapers…
Or go into the Theme folder double click on the thumbnail to add it.
I have now added these and I’ll be able to access them under the *My Themes* section for whenever I want to change them around.
This little trick will allow you to customise the hidden Windows 7 themes that are already available. If you want to get even more themes just pop over to the Microsoft site.
If you need help with this, do not hesitate to call your local computer repairs guru.
Over and out
