St Ives Chase Historical Note:
St Ives Chase is a bushland suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney located 18 kilometres north-west of Sydney’s CBD. St Ives Chase is often mistakenly seen as part of St Ives itself, although many locals are of the rightly held belief that “The Chase” is in fact a separate suburb.
St Ives Chase is almost entirely zoned for either residential or recreational means. The suburb does have a small shopping complex of 5 shops. The adjacent Caltex petrol station is the only other commercial outlet in the area. Most residents travel to shopping complexes in St Ives, Hornsby, Warringah, Chatswood, Top Ryde or Macquarie Park for their shopping needs.
Situated in the national park, St Ives Chase is the home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, particularly Bush Turkeys, which there are a high prevalence of.
