North Ryde Historical Note:
North Ryde is located 15 kilometres north west of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of the City of Ryde, and is in the Northern Suburbs region.

The earliest reference to the area being known as North Ryde is in 1877 when the Public school changed its name from City View Public School to North Ryde Public School. North Ryde in an extension of neighbouring suburb Ryd
