Naremburn is located 6 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district’ it is in the local government area of the City of Willoughby and is part of the lower north shore region of Sydney.

While the suburbs name dates back to the 1880’s the origin of its name is unknown, in 1794 the earliest land grants in the area were given to Peter Dargan and Humphrey Evans. Naremburn was originally called Central Township.

There is a small group of shops located on Willoughby Road. There are two churches, St Cuthberts Anglican Church and St Leonards Catholic Church. There were two primary schools in the suburb up until the 1990’s when both were closed down. St Leonard’s Catholic Primary School, which is now a creative arts learning centre and the Naremburn Public School which is now a housing development.

Suburbs surrounding Naremburn include Willoughby, Artarmon, St Leonards, Northbridge, Crows Nest and Cammeray.
