Macquarie Links Historical Note:
Macquarie Links is located 42 kilometres south west of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of the City of Campbelltown and is a part of the Macarthur region.
Macquarie links is a gated community, and while other gated communities are restricted and not *open* to the public for use or access, Macquarie links is not restricted. The suburb is home to an 18 hole, 72 par golf course – Macquarie Links International Golf Club; it is a short drive from the suburb of Ingleburn and is off the Hume Highway. The club overlooks the Ingleburn Industrial Estate. Suburbs around Macquarie Links include Denham Court, Ingleburn, Edmondson Park, Glenfield and Macquarie Fields. While the suburb was under development plans were made to include a hotel which would include 156 rooms, 54 apartments, and 60 golf lodges. Facilities inside would include bars, restaurant, swimming pool, gym, ballroom and meeting rooms
