Bow Bowing Historical Note:
Bow Bowing is located 55 kilometers south west of the Sydney central business district a part of the Macarthur region under the local government area of the City of Campbelltown.
Bow Bowing has gained its name from the local creek, the name of which is probably of Aboriginal origin since it was spelt Boro Borang but later corrupted. It was only in 1975 that the suburbs name was chosen as prior to that it had been known as Saggarts Field after a local family. The school built in 1866 was named Saggart Field School but was later renamed Minto Public School in 1884.
The land was purchased in 1976 by the Housing Commission who had planned to build over one thousand homes in a small area of the new suburb. Due to protest the idea was shelved, with the land sold to private developers who built 350 homes in the area, this new development was opened in 1990
