Blair Athol Historical Note:

Blair Athol is located 57 kilometers south west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Campbelltown it is part of the Macarthur region.

In the early 19th century British settlers began moving into the area establishing orchards and farms in the fertile soil. Scotsman John Kidd built the original Blair Athol homestead in 1879. He became the areas member of parliament the next year and held that position until 1904. In 1945 the land was sold to an engineering company who wanted to build a factory in the area. Council rezoned the area *Industrial* hoping other business would follow, but, for the most part the land remained vacant.

In 1992 council decided to re zone it back to residential and the current suburb was born
