Berowra Historical Note:
This suburb of northern Sydney is located 38 kilometers north of the central business district, within the local government area of Hornsby Shire. Sitting east of Berowra Waters and south east of Berowra Heights
Berowra is 227 meters above sea level and is surrounded to the west by the Berowra Valley Bushland Park, to the east by the Pacific Highway, main northern rail line and the Sydney to Newcastle Freeway. Located to the east is Cowan Creek.
With a small retail area running along the Pacific Highway near the train station Berowra is largely residential however in May 2007 a new shopping complex was opened on Turner road in Berowra Heights
The area around Berowra has many Aboriginal carvings and gets it’s name from an Aboriginal word that means *Place of many winds* and it was here that the worlds oldest living amphibian fossil had been found.
