Chirnside Park is a  suburb of Melbourne located 32 km north-east from the central district of the city. The area it’s under the local government of the area Shire of Yarra Ranges. According to the 2016 census the suburb had a population of 9,872 inhabitants.

Grazing owned by a succession of different investors, covered the territory back in 1840. At this period, the Mooroolbark Park was rich resources spot fill with black basaltic soil and watered by the environment.

In 1921 Mr. Chirnside sold Weribee Park to the estate, just before dying few month later. The area became a residential zone. Finally, the first post office of Chirnside Park opened just in 1979.

Nowadays you can find a shopping complex and other facilities in the city. If you like nature and peace walk you can enjoy following the path along the Yarra River in the area.

Most of the lands are still used for orchards and farming. Despite that, there is one private school and one college in Chirnside Park. The suburb is a home to an footie team which compete in the Eastern Football League. But also, the home to bowls, basketball and cricket clubs.
