Brighton historical note

Brighton is an affluent coastal suburb of Melbourne located 11 km south-east from the central district of the city. The area it’s under the local government of the City of Bayside. According to the 2016 census the suburb had a population of 23,253 inhabitants. Brighton in England inspired the name of the suburb.

Henry Dendy bought 5120 acres during the period of the special survey regulation (1840) and became an influent personality for the area.
