Beaconsfield historical note

Beaconsfield is a suburb of Melbourne located 44 km south-east from the central district of the city. The area it’s under the local government of the City of Cardinia. According to the 2016 census the suburb had a population of 6,714 inhabitants.

The first post office opened in 1878 and the original weatherboard building still standing. Benjamin Disraeli, also known as Lord Beaconsfield, named the town after his proper name.
