Apples job posting reads: *The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the protection of, and managing risks to, Apple’s unreleased products and related intellectual property. The position will reside in Cupertino, California and will require up to 30% travel (international and domestic)*.
*9 to 5* the Mac Blog made the connection between the two new security roles Apple has posted and the alleged incident reported of an iPhone 5 prototypes disappearance.
The blog stated *we certainly cannot assume that this job listing lends credence to Apple losing an iPhone 5, but the timing is quite interesting.*
It was reported by CNet that an Apple staffer lost the prototype in a bar, if so; it is the second prototype in as many years to disappear. Hiring a security guard just goes to show what lengths Apple will go to, to keep its products under wraps.
The last iPhone prototype was allegedly lost after a night of German beer drinking in a bar near Apple’s Cupertino headquarters by Apple engineer Gray Powell.
Recently the iPhone 5 prototype that went missing in late July in the Mission District of San Francisco – according to CNet may have been sold on Craigslist for US$200.00
So after all, may be aI was wrong in saying this was all a hoax…
